St. Joe Valley Search & Rescue was founded in 1978 and incorporated in 1995 as a volunteer non-profit organization. Our unit provides assistance to both Benewah and Shoshone County working closely with the sheriffs dept. on search and rescue, natural disasters and security. Our meetings are held on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. At this time we are meeting at the St. Maries Airport.

We just held our elections:

president: Gary Schwartz, Vice-president: Jim Crowley, Secretary: Yvonne Cornell, and Treasurer: Larry Stevens

With in the last couple of months, Shoshone County has donated a building to our unit and a large bus for our command post. We will be making repairs to this building and adding a meeting room. We just had some rope training with the Shoshone Search and Rescue, which was a lot of fun and lots of knowledge on rope tying and knots.
